mapooi with Twitter

Mapooi is an information-mapping, social utility for learning about what is going on around you and the world. This version of mapooi is used with your Twitter account to map where tweets are coming from.

Use the app to peruse the world for what people are chatting about. Or use the map to post your garage sale, a musical event, an art exhibit or lecture that you want others to know about. Warn others about current crimes in progress or the status of disasters such as fires, floods, earthquakes or storms. Use the app to take note where your loved ones are when they check in. By searching on location of key words, you can find what interests you.

The latest version of mapooi adds a subscription feature accessed from a web account. With a mapooi account, any user can upload a post or advertisement to be listed from a distinct location per the user’s criteria.

A keyword search feature has also been added, allowing a user to filter incoming posts (ie, tweets) on that keyword. So for example, a user looking for a local garage sale could set the filter to that keyword and posted garage sales would pop up on the map.

For examples, see www.flickr.com and search for mapooi .

Note: Due to initial use, your patience is appreciated while the number of users grows.
