American Sign Language for Kids. Learn ASL

(For space requirements, please read the note at the end)

Your kids will enjoy learning the basics of American Sign Language while playing our engaging, interactive game. Whether they learn to sign just for fun or because they interact with deaf or hard of hearing peers, bringing sign language into your children’s lives will widen their horizons and enrich their education.

Play2Sign’s easy-to-learn interface is based on many hours of testing with children to find out what works. It introduces common words and phrases in digestible chunks (six words at a time) in an “immersive” game format that challenges players to learn vocabulary while interacting with a “real” teacher who encourages them to accomplish the goals of the game.

Immersive learning is known to be one of the most efficient methods for teaching languages and is especially effective with children 10 years of age and younger. The Play2Sign app is mostly immersive, except for the “practice screens” that precede the games. These practice screens do use English text to help the adult that may be using this app! This text assistance can be toggled on or off by the user. If the text assistance is toggled OFF, then our immersive format means that we don’t use any written or spoken English at all! Instead, the Play2Sign games uses only images, each of which is paired with a video clip of an expert ASL signer.

In this app, vocabulary words are grouped into categories such as animals, clothing, and colors. After practicing with a group of six words in a category, players can choose to play either the “erasing” game or the “memory” game to test their knowledge.

Play2Sign is self-paced and self-reinforcing, and our friendly, expressive signers make learning ASL fun. Whatever your reason for choosing Play2Sign for your child, we hope you find it helpful, educational, and engaging!

Play2Sign is a simple, fun and interactive way to learn sign language!

PLEASE NOTE: Even though the initial download is only 9MB, when you launch the app for the first time, it will download and use up an additional 300MB of space on your Android phone. This space is due to the authentic ASL video that we use in this product. If you do not have this free space on your phone, please do not buy/install this product.
